The KIVU COOPERATIVE SOCIETY of COFFEE PLANTERS and INNOVATORS

With its 2135 members, CPNCK produces specialty coffee in the middle of Lake Kivu on "Peace Island", a quiet and touristic place at an altitude of 1,600 - 2,000 masl. The varieties in the fields of small farmers are mainly the local Bourbons (Kabare 16, Chizungu, Mulungu)
and "Katuaí".

CPNCP's coffee is already appreciated by microlot importers and specialty roasters.

Our coffee has had a great impact on the socio-economic conditions of the island population, most notably the reduction of drowning (caused by illegal trafficking to the neighboring country), and the reintegration of ex-combatants into the cooperative.

La Société des COOPÉRATIVES DES PLANTEURS du CAFÉ et INNOVATEURS du KIVU

Avec ses 2135 membres, la CPNCK produit le café de spécialité au milieu du lac Kivu sur l’ile qui s’appelle « Peace Island »,
très tranquille et touristique à une altitude de 1.600 – 2.000 masl.

Les variétés dans les champs des petits agriculteurs sont principalement les Bourbons locales (Kabare 16, Chizungu, Mulungu) et le «Katuaí ».

Le café est déjà apprécié par les importateurs et torréfacteurs du haute gamme.

Nôtre café a eu une grande impact sur les conditions socio-economiques des insulaires, plus notable la diminution de la noyade (causé par trafique illégale vers le pays voisin), et la réinsertion des ex-combattants dans la coopérative.
